November 14th at 7:00pm $5.00 suggested donation, there will be coffee and bakery. Music, Poetry, Film and Interactive art. Bring Friends and Family! Performers will be posted soon! it was a wild night, think 60's 'Happening,' multi-media-ish,
with a stream of poets, musicians, singers, backlit by projections, on a stage flanked by two giant canvasses with people dabbing paint on them as moved by the spirit of the moment, someone for example writing 'Sweet, Sweet World' in huge letters right after Holly, Jahmes & I sang my song 'Together,' with that refrain there's only one thing I know for sure: we're all in this sweet, sweet world together Susie loved the spirit of the event.... total immersion in art, etc etc it did get to be kinda marathonish, starting late, lotsa performers, a very unfortunate late break, which further thinned out the already sparse crowd, so we played to the stragglers...... but it was great to be around that young, enthusiastic energy (Jacob Hey & his Organization 4 Inspiration co-horts)-- I also want to acknowledge Jeff Poniewaz' considerable efforts, mentoring Jacob etc I'll attach a poem just now written that feels sort of inspired by the event. it references a powerful anti-smoking poem by Jeff. that poem made a big impact on me...... great imagery.....'twin-tower lungs' etc.... my grandfather grew tobacco in NC, like many farmers who counted on that 'cash crop' to make ends meet-- he was also a smoker, who died of emphysema We will post photos here soon!
